Week of Service

MDW AZ 4Volunteerism is one of the fundamentals of organized dentistry and a crucial component of many ASDA chapters. As part of ASDA’s National Outreach Initiative to highlight chapters’ community service efforts, we are pleased to present ASDA’s Week of Service on Jan. 21-27, 2019. ASDA’s social media platforms will focus on the outreach efforts of select chapters during that week. Want your chapter event featured? Email the Council on Professional Issues

All ASDA chapters are encouraged to plan and carry out service-related events throughout the Week of Service.

What kind of events could your chapter hold?
  • Host a health fair
  • Volunteer at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen
  • Conduct free dental screenings at an elementary school or veterans home
  • Hold a drive to collect items needed for your community: coats, shoes, food, toiletries or books are common and useful items to consider
  • Help build up or clean up your community: join a Habitat for Humanity work site or a neighborhood clean-up crew
  • Plan a mission trip with your chapter
  • Pair with an existing nonprofit to provide support at an upcoming event:  Special Olympics, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Relay for Life, Give Kids A Smile, etc. are great organizations always looking for volunteers

Share your event on social media using #ASDAOutreach.
